Just because you are the only development person in your organization doesn't mean that you have to do development on your own. Recruit a team of people to support and encourage you and to help you. You might think about including your ED, someone on the program staff, a board member or two, or even another volunteer. They can help you in so many ways. Be sure you get a good mix of Asking Styles on your team! Though it takes some work to build and manage a team, it'll be well worth the effort.

I appreciate your views on introverts being good fundraisers. You made one comment that organizations thrive best with both introverts and extroverts on staff. When you're an introvert and the only development staff in a small non-profit, do you have tips for being the best fundraiser you can be, without that extrovert to encourage you?
