Foundation Center, the world’s leading source of philanthropic data and capacity building in the social sector, announces enhancements to its global affiliate program, the Funding Information Network (FIN). The FIN program was launched more than fifty years ago and today is comprised 400+ affiliates in 8 countries across the globe, represented by libraries, community foundations, and nonprofit resource centers. FIN affiliation enables partners to better serve their stakeholders by freely providing funding data and knowledge tools that help nonprofits fundraise effectively.
With the introduction of these two new program tiers, new FIN partners can opt-in at the level that best addresses the needs of their communities. Access tier partners provide access and support to nonprofits looking for funding on our recently enhanced database, Foundation Directory Online (FDO), as well as Foundation Grants to Individuals Online (GTIO). Training tier partners provide access to FDO, GTIO, and Foundation Maps, and also deliver Foundation Center’s signature nonprofit training curriculum.
“We are thrilled to announce the new tiers and reaffirm our commitment to strengthening our partners’ capacity to serve local nonprofits,” says Kate Tkacik, Director of Network Engagement. “Our new program packages also include numerous professional development and marketing opportunities, along with reliable technical assistance to make sure FIN partners’ trainings and databases are running smoothly.”
In addition to announcing the two new program tiers, Foundation Center is also excited to announce the inaugural cohort of FIN Training program partners in five states across the country:
- Free Library of Philadelphia (Pennsylvania)
- Charlotte Mecklenburg Public Library (North Carolina)
- Dallas Public Library (Texas)
- Forefront (Illinois)
- Middle Georgia Regional Library (Georgia)
- University of Texas at Austin (Texas)
These Training partners will work closely with Foundation Center’s own training team to share and co-develop best practices for supporting nonprofit capacity building needs.
